Following our foray into DXpeditions.......................
it was decided to repeat the experience.
After much discussion it was decided to once again make our way to Scotland
this time to the Isle of Tiree.
As before we booked a self catering cottage
but this time we decided that we would stay overnight in Oban
as we had to be at the ferry port for 7am
after a pleasant journey and hearty breakfast on the ferry we arrived at our destination .
The van was quickly unloaded and antennas and masts erected
once again a very good time was had.......... playing radio.
We used SSB / CW and RTTY modes
the radios used :-
two Yaesu FT 1000 MP's
and two Acom 1000 amplifiers
antennas and masts were :-
two Hex Beams on 20 ft masts
vertical antennas for 17 / 40 mtrs
and a long wire for top band
the callsign used was MS0OXE
our little group was
Simon – M0VKY
Drew – G7DMO
Terry – G4MKP
and myself – G0JKY
known collectively as “The Black Country DX Contest Group”
